The challenge

Leaders who had been highly effective in Japan were being asked to take on broader responsibilities in unfamiliar global environments. Technical and business expertise remained important, but international growth also required new forms of judgment, communication, and cross-cultural leadership.

The work

Working with the co-CEO, the engagement identified the leadership demands created by the company’s international expansion and translated them into a development architecture. The design connected business priorities with leadership capabilities and development experiences suited to global roles.

The contribution

The resulting architecture gave the organization a more deliberate way to prepare Japanese leaders for expanded international responsibilities, rather than relying on experience or technical success alone to produce global readiness.
