The challenge
As international assignment activity expanded, the existing support model became increasingly difficult to scale. More volume and complexity placed pressure on service quality, response time, and the administrative processes surrounding employee transitions.
The work
The operating model used to support Intel’s international assignments was redesigned. Workflows were streamlined, responsibilities were clarified, and service practices were made more consistent so that the operation could handle greater volume without abandoning individualized support.
The contribution
The revised model improved scalability and reduced unnecessary complexity within the service operation. It also helped establish more consistent standards for global assignment management and the support of employees moving into roles in Japan and the Asia-Pacific region.
